Canadian Tire

Hi there! Parts and service. Your customer service gentleman Dale and my mechanic went above and beyond any expectations or experiences I have had in the past. My car was in November 29. While I waited in the service lounge I had several chats with Dale about things that should be checked out. And I'm glad i waited. He explained what was not functioning properly and why. What should or could be repaired. And my mechanic worked strait thru his coffee and lunch so i wouldnt have to wait as long. I left the lot feeling safe and knowledgeable about the repairs that were done. So in closing i would like the manager to please acknowledge these 2 members of your staff. They are awesome!

ABSOLUTELY horrible experience today with the automotive department at Canadian tire here in cold lake. Yesterday, my boyfriend called Canadian tire looking for a set of 4 brand new winter tires for his truck. The online inventory and the staff member on the phone confirmed that there were 4 tires left of that brand. He went in and requested them to pull the tires and sell just the tires over the counter. They refused to pull the tires from the back because they were “too busy” up front. Mind you these tires are close to 2000$ and he was paying in cash, prepared to load them into his own vehicle by himself, all they would need to do is ring him up and pull them from the back shelves. They refused to do so and told him to come back later when it’s not as busy. My boyfriend was understanding and decided we would have them reserved for us and come back the next day as they said it should only take them “a bit” to have them ready. We came back today and waited in line at the automotive centre and when we reached a staff member we told them we had tires reserved and came back to pick them up. He first couldn’t find them in the system, then told us they were reserved for someone else and that it’d take two weeks to order them in. Once we told him we were the ones who reserved them and reminded him of the conversation him and my boyfriend had yesterday he told us they still weren’t ready. He said we shouldn’t have come back and instead have waited for them to call us in a few days and that they’d then be ready for pick up. He said it’s still too busy (despite coming in at 2pm on a weekday). The only people around us and in line were checking out items they had in their cart and didn’t need anything from the back. I don’t understand why someone else can’t ring up other customers while they pull something from the back considering there were many other staff members standing around at the front counter and customer service desk talking. When you come into a store with cash prepared to buy something that costs 2000$ and you are met with a shrug and a simple “we’re too busy” when other staff members are standing around it really rubs you the wrong way. We then proceeded to go to fountain tire where they had a full parking lot and only two staff members at the front desk. We waited in line quickly bought the tires and they were kindly loaded into our truck within 10 minutes. This is the kind of customer service that attracts clients. The exact same tires at fountain tire were also on sale for 1700$. Thank goodness we didn’t give our business to Canadian tire and their lousy customer service. Due to your service we WILL NOT be returning to Canadian tire.

Took a battery in that had a 3 year warranty and is about 2 years old. It needs a boost every time lately and wont hold a charge. They said warranty is voided as it is frozen. They shoock the battery and said it sounds like ice slush inside it .When we explained it had been sitting in the house for the last 5 days they said that wouldnt be long enough to thaw it and its still frozen...they can tell they said. Watched them do that to a few people that day. Know the battery wasnt frozen, and pretty sure water sitting inside a house for 5 days isnt still slush... but the "clerk" at canadian tire seems to know better. VERY UNHAPPY.

Customer service is great at this location but the birds need to be dealt with , I was standing in an aisle with my spouse and had something fall from the roof onto me , then again another drop , I look and it was bird feces , in my hair and on my clothes . I look up and there is birds , not just one or 2 but 3 sitting directly above me on the beams cleaning themselves and pooping on me and what I seen was onto merchandise as well, there was atleast 5 that I had seen in the small area . I should not need to worry about going into an establishment and having feces drop onto me , if it was one bird who had an accident on me I probably would not care but to be pooped on twice in a matter of seconds then to realize the amount of birds in the building is very unclean , they need to be relocated out of the store. It truly is not a nice feeling to be out doing my errands and then needing to go home to shower and change clothing due to being pooped on inside of a store . As I said customer service is great at this location but when I brought this matter upto an employee they brushed it off and laughed that I had been pooped on, which honestly most people’s reaction would be a good laugh but this is just very unsanitary and made my day a bit more disturbing .
